Fresh produce is a speciality business and one which we are proud to be a leader in.
Due to our location in Sheerness which was one of the largest fresh produce ports in the UK we have has years of processing the importation of fruit and vegetables however the majority of our business now due to our computer links is at container ports outside of Sheerness. The list below whilst not comprehensive advises which ports we are linked to and the services we can provide at each location.

Why Kleerfreight?
Fresh fruit and vegetables and their complex documentation and varying duty rulings are a test to the most experienced in the perishable forwarding community, due to our years of experience we are able to offer advice and information to assist both importers and forwarders alike, if in doubt ask.
In addition to deep sea arrivals, we have linked agents at all of the UKs major airports enabling us to cover any urgent air arrivals, clearance and deliveries which may arise.
We are registered for the DEFRA system known simply as ‘PEACH’. This system is in place to enable perishable importers and agents to notify DEFRA of impending arrivals into the UK which may be liable to inspection, We are also authorised and well versed in IPAFFS submissions.
A risk based assessment is carried out by their database and after your information has been run through the system you will either be issued a ‘certificate
of conformity’ or your cargo will be flagged for inspection.
We are able to act on your behalf making PEACH notifications for your shipments, registration is required for use of the system, then it is as easy as nominating us as your agent.

IPAFFS
IPAFFS replaces PEACH in 2024, it is basically the same system but it has been brought up to date the same way as HMRC updated CHIEF to CDS, the system needed o be future proofed and the tech originally used has become old / clunky and life moves on.
The good news is that we are and have already been using IPAFFS for quite some time now, your company will need to be registered to use the system and then you can decide if you wish for Kleerfreight to handle the notifications or you can process them yourselves, some time the cost of time making these declarations when you are busy elsewhere makes the small charge we levy a better option.
