EORI Registration
Buying / selling & trading goods with countries outside the UK? You will need an EORI number.
The application form you fill in depends on whether you’re:
-
registered for VAT (if you didn’t get one when registering for VAT online - see below explanation)
If you are already registered for VAT and were not given EORI confirmation at the time of receiving your VAT number or you have been registered for VAT for some time then you will have to apply to get your VAT number EORI registered, this registration tags the EORI onto you existing VAT number and allows your VAT number to be used for import & export.
If you are not sure your VAT number is already registered, put the number in on the link below, make sure you put your country code (i.e GB for UK customers) and add 000 on the end of your 9 digit VAT number.

Please note that shipments to and from Northern Ireland currently come under a different set of rules and you will need to have an 'XI' EORI number and not a 'GB' one to import and export.
Once you have applied for your EORI number you will receive confirmation by way of email, usually within 3 working days, make sure you check your spam folder if it’s not in your inbox by this time. When you have it, send it to us and we can get processing your paperwork, note that we can not send a
declaration to HMRC until it becomes active which is normally the day after you receive it.
You can contact the EORI team but unfortunately it is only by email and via this form https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/shortforms/form/EORIContact
If you need help please feel free to get in touch with us if we have your shipment.
